We’re seeking a Product Owner for a fast-growing global payments provider to take ownership of critical payment capabilities that support secure, scalable, and reliable transactions. This is a pivotal role focused on driving the delivery of innovative payment solutions that meet business objectives, regulatory standards, and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and maintain the roadmap for payment processing features aligned with business and customer goals.
  • Identify and prioritise opportunities to improve payment flow efficiency, platform resilience, and scalability.
  • Balance commercial, technical, and regulatory inputs when making product decisions.

Backlog & Requirements Management

  • Own and manage the product backlog; write high-quality user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Refine and adjust product requirements based on ongoing feedback and data insights.
  • Ensure development items are ready for delivery and aligned with priorities.

Delivery & Execution

  • Collaborate with engineering teams throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Lead agile ceremonies: sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure delivered features meet performance, functional, and compliance requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as the primary point of contact between product, engineering, operations, compliance, and commercial teams.
  • Gather and validate stakeholder requirements and communicate trade-offs clearly.
  • Ensure transparency across teams regarding progress and prioritisation.

Payments & Compliance

  • Ensure payment features adhere to regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Support initiatives across reconciliation, transaction monitoring, exception handling, and settlement.
  • Stay up to date on emerging trends in payment processing and fintech compliance.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Experience

  • 7+ years in Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar roles within financial services or fintech.
  • Proven experience with payment processing platforms or financial transaction systems.
  • Exposure to both domestic and cross-border payments and understanding of various payment rails.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong grasp of payment processing concepts including transaction lifecycle, settlement, reconciliation, and failure handling.
  • Understanding of compliance requirements relevant to payment services.
  • Skilled in using agile tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence) and driving agile delivery teams.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills; fluent in English.
