We are delighted to be recruiting for an Engineering Manager as part of a rapidly expanding engineering team, we are seeking Engineering Managers to lead critical product initiatives across Payments and Cards verticals. Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead a small team of engineers, providing mentorship, career guidance, and fostering a culture of excellence, ownership, and accountability.
- Technical Strategy: Contribute to technical architecture and direction, ensuring alignment with broader product goals and long-term scalability.
- Execution & Delivery: Work closely with product managers and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of features and systems.
- Hiring & Growth: Play a key role in hiring, onboarding, and growing the engineering team with a focus on team health, diversity, and performance.
- Operational Excellence: Champion best practices in observability, reliability, and incident response. Ensure code quality, performance, and maintainability.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive retrospectives and improvement initiatives, ensuring the team evolves alongside our products and customers.
To be successful, you will need to have:
- Experience: 12+ years in software engineering, with recent years spent in engineering leadership roles (preferably leading small, cross-functional teams). Candidates with strong IC backgrounds and deep domain expertise may also be considered.
- Domain Knowledge: Experience in Payments, Credit Cards, or Fintech is strongly preferred. This includes familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and transaction flows.
- Technical Proficiency: A strong foundation in backend systems, API design, distributed architectures, and cloud-native patterns. Exposure to technologies such as Node.js, Typescript, NestJS, Serverless, and AWS Lambda is highly desirable.
- Database Expertise: Solid understanding of relational databases (AWS Aurora, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and ORM frameworks (e.g., TypeORM, Prisma).
- Startup Mindset: Comfortable operating in a high-growth, dynamic environment. Resourceful, pragmatic, and able to balance velocity with quality.
