We’re hiring a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to take full ownership of the technical direction from day one. This is the first engineering hire and a foundational leadership position, with significant autonomy, influence, and equity upside.
The platform is being built from scratch to meet the expectations of institutional players—this is about creating enduring infrastructure, not rapid experimentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the end-to-end technical architecture from inception
- Choose execution environments: blockchain, DLT, or hybrid architectures
- Design and implement platform logic and, where relevant, smart contracts
- Build or oversee backend systems, APIs, data infrastructure, and operational tooling
- Integrate with external partners including custodians, wallets, and trading venues
- Work closely with founders, product leadership, and legal/compliance stakeholders to align technology with business and regulatory requirements
- Create and maintain development processes, CI/CD pipelines, and security protocols
- Represent technical leadership in external discussions with partners, investors, and auditors
- Recruit and mentor the engineering team as the company grows
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- 7+ years building production-grade systems in crypto, fintech, or financial infrastructure
- Deep technical understanding across systems architecture, backend engineering, and smart contract design
- Demonstrated ability to make early architectural decisions that scale
- Hands-on capability to build while also guiding technical direction
- Comfort navigating early-stage uncertainty and shaping ambiguous problem spaces
- Ownership mentality—driven by outcomes and long-term success
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with Bitcoin-native infrastructure, credit markets, custody solutions, or trading platforms
- Exposure to regulated environments and working with compliance or audit teams
- Previous experience as a founder or early-stage technical leader
