The role leads the lab's EU AI Act engagement and speaks publicly for the lab when policy questions land. The substance is the work: the Act's tiered obligations, the AI Office's evolving codes of practice, and the UK and US conversations that run alongside, held at a depth where regulators and the lab's own research leads can both use the answers. The public-facing side is just as live — testimony, written submissions, on-record briefings, and the occasional set-piece when a release or an incident forces the lab into the policy conversation. Reporting is to the General Counsel, with regular access to the founding team.
