We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a rapidly growing Data & Analytics team at a leading digital asset exchange. This role offers the opportunity to shape and optimize data infrastructure that drives key business decisions. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines, ensuring the seamless processing of large datasets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance data solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain efficient data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming large data sets from multiple sources.
Implement and optimize data ingestion frameworks to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability.
Create scalable, unit-tested data products to drive business workflows and support data-driven decision-making.
Lead efforts to improve the performance, scalability, and security of existing data solutions.
Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to plan for architectural scalability and analyze complex edge cases.
Deploy and maintain data solutions such as business dashboards and machine learning models.
Champion best practices in data architecture, code reviews, and mentorship for junior team members.
Monitor data pipelines, proactively identifying and addressing performance and security issues.
Implement and manage logging, monitoring, and alerting systems for data pipelines.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
5+ years of experience with ETL, SQL, and data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.
Expertise in data modeling, database design, and delivering cloud-based data solutions, particularly with Snowflake or similar data warehouses.
Proficiency in Python or R, with knowledge of modern data engineering practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced Agile development environment.
Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with business stakeholders.
Preferred (but not required):
Experience with AWS services such as Firehose, Apache Airflow, Kinesis, S3, Lambda, or SageMaker.
Experience in fintech or a passion for cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
Location: Remote position available to candidates within Canada, the US, or LATAM regions.
