Senior Blockchain Platform Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Blockchain Platform Engineer to design, deploy, manage, and maintain validator nodes across multiple blockchain networks. This role blends Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, and Platform Engineering, requiring expertise in these areas to build and sustain secure, scalable, and high-performance infrastructure.

You will collaborate closely with internal teams—including business, development, and modelling—as well as external stakeholders within the blockchain ecosystem. You will play a pivotal role in automation, stability, and platform efficiency, ensuring smooth operations. Additionally, you will stay updated on chain-specific developments, coordinate network upgrades, and provide technical insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure & Automation: Design and implement production-grade blockchain systems, streamlining processes through automation for efficiency and scalability.
• Validator Node Management: Research, deploy, and maintain validator nodes for multiple blockchain networks.
• Performance Optimisation: Ensure validator nodes meet performance benchmarks, optimising for latency, transaction speed, and efficiency.
• Monitoring & Incident Response: Implement monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus) and participate in on-call rotations to manage incidents.
• Security & Compliance: Apply best security practices to safeguard infrastructure and ensure compliance with blockchain network standards.
• Upgrades & Forks: Prepare for and execute network upgrades and hard forks, liaising with the community and stakeholders.
• Documentation & Communication: Maintain up-to-date documentation on blockchain operations and share key insights with internal and external teams.
• Collaboration: Act as the internal blockchain expert, working closely with development, modelling, and business teams.
• Cost Management: Optimise infrastructure costs while balancing performance and scalability.

What You Bring

• Proven experience in managing blockchain nodes (validators, RPC nodes) on networks such as Ethereum, Solana, or Cosmos.
• Deep understanding of blockchain protocols, security best practices, and performance optimisation.
• Expertise in designing and implementing scalable, production-grade infrastructure with a focus on automation.
• Proficiency in system automation and tooling, with experience writing production-level scripts.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, and monitoring tools like Grafana.
• Familiarity with cloud providers (AWS, GCP), on-prem solutions, and bare metal infrastructure.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
