Position Summary:

Our client, a forward-thinking organisation offering a groundbreaking business intelligence (BI) platform, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Owner to support their growing team. This platform empowers users with re-imagined dashboards, self-serve exploration, and a generative AI data analyst, enabling actionable insights to be effortlessly unlocked from data.

This role involves balancing hands-on product ownership—writing user stories, managing engineering teams, and ensuring deliverables—with engaging sales and customer support teams to gather insights, prioritise customer needs, and identify actionable opportunities.

The ideal candidate will thrive in both tactical and strategic environments, playing a pivotal role in aligning product development with business goals and customer expectations. Candidates with a background in SaaS and experience working with data-centric products are highly desirable for this.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Ownership

  • Write clear, concise user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Manage the product backlog, ensuring priorities align with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to drive sprint planning and execution.
  • Track and manage progress to ensure timely delivery of features.
  • Conduct regular refinement sessions to maintain a well-groomed backlog.
  • Serve as the point of contact for the development team, addressing questions and clarifications.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Liaise with sales and customer support teams to understand customer pain points and feature requests.
  • Conduct user feedback sessions to validate potential solutions.
  • Analyse and prioritise incoming feature requests based on business value and feasibility.
  • Advocate for customer-centric solutions while balancing technical constraints and strategic objectives.
  • Communicate prioritisation decisions clearly to stakeholders.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or in a related role.
  • Strong background in writing detailed user stories and managing product backlogs.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering teams in Agile or Scrum environments.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to translate customer needs into actionable product improvements.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • SaaS experience and a proven track record of working with data-centric products are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a startup or high-growth environment is a plus.

Familiarity with customer support and sales processes is highly advantageous.

Knowledge of modern product management tools and methodologies.
