Spectrum Search is on the lookout for a visionary Chief Legal Officer (CLO) with strong US legal training to join a rapidly scaling Web3 project. This role demands an individual who is adept at navigating the intricate legalities of technology and digital assets within the blockchain industry. The chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping legal strategy, focusing on corporate governance, regulatory structuring, tax laws, and intellectual property, all tailored to meet the unique requirements of the Web3 blockchain space.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Legal Leadership: Ensure compliance with blockchain technology standards, offering expert legal counsel on corporate governance.
Corporate Structuring & Tax Optimization: Spearhead corporate structuring and tax planning efforts to boost efficiency and mitigate legal risks.
Legal Frameworks & Compliance: Oversee the alignment of company policies and governance with business objectives and regulatory demands, especially concerning financial reporting and intellectual property.
Commercial Agreements & Negotiations: Manage complex commercial agreements to protect interests and encourage business growth.
Intellectual Property Strategy: Guide intellectual property strategies to safeguard and leverage blockchain innovations.
Legal Research & Advice: Provide comprehensive legal research and advice on corporate law matters, ensuring informed decision-making and compliance.
Leadership & Advisory: Serve as a strategic advisor on legal issues to senior leadership, enhancing overall strategic planning.
Departmental Management: Assist in leading the legal department, promoting initiatives for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Licensed to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction, with international experience a plus.
At least 7 years of legal experience focused on corporate law, tax optimization, and governance, preferably in technology, fintech, or blockchain.
Expertise in corporate structuring, tax planning, and complex negotiations.
A deep understanding of tax laws, regulatory frameworks, and compliance in the blockchain sector.
Skill in handling intellectual property, with a strong analytical and communication ability.
Detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
